0706 - Patina Techniques & Creations

$120.00

Patina Techniques and Creations
Thursday 10-5pm

Learn to create beautiful patina's on various types of metals using nothing but your imagination and a few household supplies.  This class is for the adventurous, who would love to be surprised by some very interesting and gorgeous colors patinas that would normally take hundreds of years to age on their own.  I patina metals the way my Italian grandmother taught me to make sauce, no exact recipe, a little bit of this and a lot of that and see what happens.  It makes for wonderful surprises.  Feel free to bring a notebook for those who would like to "guess-ta-mate" the amounts!  Wear old comfy clothes and have a fun filled day making patina's in the morning and designing jewelry with your patina'd metals and found objects in the afternoon.  I guarantee a good time will be had by all!

In the morning you will learn techniques, creating base pieces for future projects but in the afternoon, I will supply materials already patina'd for you to create a special piece to wear immediately.

Kit Fee is $40.00 due to expense of metals
• All metals (double the usual amount), one set to patina and one set that is already patina’ and sealed ready to work with during the afternoon’s design session. The metals will be precut for your convenience but you will learn the correct method of filing metals. Also raw metal cuffs will be included (one for patina and one already patina’d for afternoon).
