In 2011, Art Is...You will celebrate its 5th anniversary under the theme of ART IS....a WHO's Who

Horton is attending with Yertle the Turtle and Cat in the Hat.  Even the Lorax will make an appearance, and there is nothing Mrs Pom can do about that! 

Eat Cake and Createİ opportunities on Thursday and Friday!

Mrs. Pom will be back with her successful journaling heart starters on Saturday, Sunday and Monday Mornings. These morning classes are inclusive of the daily registration fee. A unique and special way to start your journey each day.  Which hand will you be drawing with this year?

Elephant Trunk devotees are welcome to rise early on Sunday and drive to the flea market to discover something precious and we will have directions for those who have not been there before.

Sunday's ART TRUNK has a couple of special twists this year.  Firstly it will be an all day affair commencing with a special breakfast preview from 8am-10am for attendees before they start their workshop.  This large and exciting market with wonderful trunk shows from industry suppliers and artists will be open and promoted to the public. 

Following the close of workshops on Sunday, we will gather for more shopping, a special presentation by a special gal, supper and of course our annual fundraising activity.  This year we are hosting a Fabulous Flamingo Steeplechase with proceeds being donated to "Sarah's House"

Another exciting addition this year is the extension of our retreat to Monday and Tuesday with a host of new faculty and exciting workshops available for selection. 

Finally, think about volunteering to be a class helper on a day you do not have a workshop.  A great way to extend your experience, be with people that inspire you and get a free lunch and our special Volunteer Gift - designed and created by family member Lesley Venable.

A note from Sallianne and Ellen:
We are very much aware that Yom Kippur falls on Columbus Day Weekend in 2011. That means that many of our Jewish art friends will be celebrating their most holy day from Friday sundown through to Saturday sundown. With this in mind and in consultation with a number of our Jewish mentors, we have developed a schedule we hope will work to the benefit of us all. It is a schedule that essentially makes Sunday our middle day and hopefully enabling as many as possible to participate in the group events, vending and our official opening/close of the retreat on Sunday evening.
